Natural resources, especially raw materials, form the basis on which our economic, ecological and social future depends. Global production, and with it the demand for raw materials, is rising steadily: in 2009, with 68 billion tons, about twice as many raw materials were used worldwide as at the end of the 1970s. With the current consumption, the use of natural resources exceeds the regenerative capacity of the earth. This results in the urgent need to make our usage of the remaining resources as gentle as possible and, above all, efficient.
Arepo supports decision-makers from politics and business in the development and implementation of guidelines and projects regarding resource efficiency.
Typical services include monitoring and evaluation studies, as well as smaller consulting services. For the Federal Ministry for the Environment, we produced project abstracts that were funded under the National Climate Initiative (NKI) – exciting projects, which are dealing with e.g. waste avoidance or recycling. We also support the selection of project proposals on resource efficiency within the framework of the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
