Today, the impact of climate change is already clearly felt. Heat waves and droughts, heavy rainfall and storms occur regularly and with decreasing intervals – a trend that will lead to significant global problems in the coming years. Thus, it is imperative that policymakers already engage with climate change adaptation strategies to address the devastating effects of global warming.
Arepo advises national and international institutions on the selection of climate adaptation projects or evaluates already funded projects with regard to their effects. The review of projects in the field of ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) is also part of our scope of duties.
For example, we supported the C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF) in the assessment of project applications. The CFF supports 40 cities in developing and emerging countries to prepare and deliver sustainable, low carbon and climate change adaptation projects.
