Mariette Hoppe works mostly within the area of international climate policy and the international energy transition. Among others, she contributes to a project on carbon market financing and on transparency in international climate action.
Previously to joining Arepo, Mariette Hoppe has worked as a junior specialist at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), where she has been focusing on NDC implementation and financing, and on gender mainstreaming. During her studies, she has been an intern at the climate department of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
Mariette Hoppe holds a Master’s degree in “International Relations/ International Political Economy” (M. A.) from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. She speaks fluent English and has very good knowledge of French, as well as basic knowledge of Dutch.
