Energy Efficiency

Increasing energy efficiency in the industrial sector, businesses and households is an essential part of sustainable energy industry and a long-term decarbonisation. It requires the commitment of citizens, municipalities and businesses alike.

We advise governments and international institutions on funding mechanisms for energy efficiency technologies and evaluate national and international projects and programs that aim to drive the development of energy efficiency worldwide.

Our work in this area includes, for example, the evaluation of an framework program of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) to create conditions for investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency, or the evaluation of projects of the National Climate Initiative (NKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment. Recently, we completed an impact evaluation of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) programs in the field of energy efficiency in industry in Thailand, Iran, Indonesia and Egypt. With our evaluation of the directive for the promotion of heat pump optimization by highly efficient pumps and hydraulic adjustment on behalf of BMWi and BAFA, we support the improvement of energy efficiency in the heating sector in Germany, with the accompanying evaluation of the “energy solutions – made in Germany” initiative, we support the worldwide distribution of Germany’s established energy efficiency technologies.
