The short report deals with the status of the lignite industry in Germany (reserves, use, jobs) as well as the status of the lignite industry worldwide (reserves and consumption in selected countries). In addition, it describes historical milestones of the expansion and decline of German coal production and highlights current central developments in lignite mining worldwide.
