Tashi Pareek has more than eight years of professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, and knowledge management within international development programmes. She brings extensive institutional experience working with public authorities, implementing organisations, non-governmental organisations, academic institutions, and private sector actors.
A significant part of her work focused on GIZ projects implemented under the BMZ’s Special Initiative ONE WORLD – No Hunger (SEWOH), including the GIZ Programmes “Soil Protection and Rehabilitation for Food Security (ProSoil)” and “Green Innovation Centres in the Agri-Food Sector (GAIE)”. Following her assignment within the GAIE project in India, she assumed responsibility for the M&E system in the steering unit of the multi-country programme (16 countries in Africa and Asia). In this role, she incorporated perspectives from implementing countries into the programme’s evaluation framework.
She addressed gender-related aspects in evaluation both within the ProSoil project and in the context of her work with Plan International, where gender is institutionally embedded as a core thematic area.
In addition to evaluation, she has expertise in knowledge management, communication, and capacity development. She further strengthened her knowledge management profile at Freie Universität Berlin, where she evaluated knowledge transfer structures within a programme funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the field of sustainable chemistry.
Her academic background is in circular economy and material flow management. During her studies, she gained professional experience at the Institute for Future Energy and Material Flow Systems (IZES) within the BMBF-funded project “Rapid Planning” and at GIZ in the BMZ-funded project “Support to Urban Sanitation Policy”, both with a focus on policy analysis in the energy and environmental fields.
At the beginning of her career, she co-founded a civil society initiative in the Himalayan region of Northern India working in the field of environmental protection and waste management.
