Evaluation of the German Climate Initiative. Final Report 2012

The project “Evaluation of the German Climate Initiative” was carried out by the consortium Öko-Institut, Ecologic Institute, Environmental Policy Research Centre of the Free University of Berlin, Arepo, Financial Research Institute at the University of Cologne and Dr. Hans-Joachim Ziesing. The team working on the evaluation project consisted of more than 30 employees between 2009 and 2012. The project’s objective was to evaluate the National Climate Initiative (NKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Protection and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and to develop recommendations for the further development of the initiative. On one hand, 20 individual projects and 4 funding guidelines were evaluated and the results of 3 programs, which were topped up with funds from the NKI, were collected. On the other hand, the results of the individual evaluations were summarised and evaluated at the program level.
