Central Project Evaluation Sustainable development of coastal urban areas through the integration of ecosystem services and biodiversity, Mexico

Project Background

Arepo was commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with the central project evaluation of the project “Sustainable development of coastal urban areas through the integration of ecosystem services and biodiversity, Mexico “. The overall project objective is to to enhance resilient, prosperous, and healthy coastal cities and regions in Mexico by integrating biodiversity and environmental services into urban planning and management instruments. The project focuses on the outputs (1) planning in urban coastal regions, (2) implementation of pilot projects, (3) dissemination and replication of experiences and (4) cross-cutting issues, such as participatory decision-making, with a special focus on gender and youth perspectives.

Type and scope of services provided

Arepo is evaluating the project on behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit. A significant part of this evaluation involves on-site research. The pro-ject evaluation consists of a de-tailed analysis according to the OECD-DAC criteria.
