Towards a more resilient and greener Bangladesh: Mid-Term evaluation of the environmental components of the UNDP Country Programme.

Project Background

In this project the team evaluated UNDP Bangladesh’s environment programme, focusing on the inclusion of energy projects into the project portfolio. The recommendations were given in the context of the Country Programme Evaluation.
Christine Wörlen was a senior member of the evaluation team for the mid-term evaluation of the environmental component of the Bangladesh Country Programme of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This is one of the biggest country programmes of the largest UN technical assistance agencies.

Type and scope of services

As the energy specialist on the team, Dr. Wörlen reviewed all components of the UNDP and UNDP GEF energy-related activities, specifically the work in energy efficient brick kilns and energy efficiency standards and labels. She also reviewed the energy-related activities of all other Donors in active in this field in Bangladesh in order to understand and identify missed opportunities.
