Guidelines to Climate Mitigation Evaluations

Project Background

The discipline of evaluating climate action programmes in developing countries is well advanced. In this project, Arepo aggregated best practices in this research area in two documents. The findings were used to support the discussion within the Climate Change Evaluators Community of Practice, and so that evaluators could integrate them into their daily work.

Type and scope of services

Part I of the analysis focussed on concepts and interdependencies in which climate action programmes can be integrated, and how these should be used when performing evaluations. Interventions on global, regional and national level were integrated.

Part II suggested suitable indicators and methods for the evaluation of climate action programmes. The findings and guidelines were distributed via webinars and on the website of the Community of Practice.
