Central Project Evaluation of the Project Improved Coordination of International Climate Finance, Bangladesh

Project Background

Arepo was commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with the central project evaluation of the project ” Improved Coordination of International Climate Finance”. The overall project objective is to improve the capacities of national and local actors to develop high-quality climate projects tailored to the requirements of different financiers. The focus is on capacity building for mobilizing and coordinating climate finance at the national level; in the banking sector, improving banks’ operational modalities for implementing sustainable finance policies and strengthening the capacity of banks and financial institutions to mobilize sustainable climate finance; and collaborating with city governments and municipalities on adaptation planning. The evaluation is an ex-post evaluation that will take place between January 2023 and November 2023. The primary objective of the central project evaluation is to monitor the project in terms of its design, its impact, and the quality of its implementation.

Type and Scope of Service

Arepo is evaluating the project on behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit. A significant part of this evaluation involves on-site research. The project evaluation consists of a detailed analysis according to the OECD-DAC criteria.
