Carina Kmett

Carina Kmett brings her expertise in the fields of national and international climate and environmental policy to the role. She completed her degree in Environmental Sciences at Leuphana University Lüneburg (B.Sc. in Global Environmental and Sustainability Studies) and her Master’s degree in Environmental Planning at the Technical University of Berlin (M.Sc. in Environmental Planning) as part of international degree programmes. As a result, she speaks English fluently and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.

Before joining Arepo, Carina Kmett worked at ifok GmbH as a consultant on public participation processes for sustainable mobility. There, she supported various public sector projects ranging from the local to the federal level, including the ‘Expert Advisory Board on Climate Protection in Mobility’ for the Federal Ministry of Transport. She now brings her experience in political communication, as well as in the design and facilitation of participatory processes, to bear specifically on consultancy and evaluation work at Arepo.

Outside of work, she volunteers with Starke Demokratie e. V., where she supports local politicians in dealing with violence and hostility. As well as facilitating workshops, she is primarily involved in the organisation’s needs and impact analysis.
