Gabriela is an interdisciplinary professional with a Master’s in Rural Development from the National Center for Agronomic Studies for Tropical Regions (CNEARC) in Montpellier, France, and a degree in Zootechnical Engineering and a B.Sc. from the National Agrarian University La Molina, Peru. She has complemented her training with international courses on governance for the conservation and sustainable management of ecosystems in America and Europe.
In coordination with ministries and international organisations and rural communities, Gabriela has provided technical support in the areas of climate change adaptation and mitigation, rural development, and the participatory planning and management of fragile ecosystems. She has also specialised in ecosystem-based adaptation. Over the last decade, she has also evaluated and systematised projects in complex contexts in Latin America, working closely with peasant and native communities and with diverse actors including civil society organizations, public institutions, international bodies (UNDP, UNEP, FAO, GEF), development cooperation agencies, and private-sector consultancies.
Gabriela is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
