Project Background<\/h3>\n

Arepo was commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with the central project evaluation of the project “Sustainable development of coastal urban areas through the integration of ecosystem services and biodiversity, Mexico.”<\/em> The overall project objective was to enhance resilient, prosperous, and healthy coastal cities and regions in Mexico by integrating biodiversity and environmental services into urban planning and management instruments. The project focused on the outputs (1) planning in urban coastal regions, (2) implementation of pilot projects, (3) dissemination and replication of experiences, and (4) cross-cutting issues, such as participatory decision-making, with a special focus on gender and youth perspectives.<\/p>\n

Type and scope of services provided<\/h3>\n

Arepo evaluated the project on behalf of the Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit. A significant part of this evaluation was linked to on-site research.
