Since the end of 2012, the “Climate Discourse.NRW e.V.” intends to work as a neutral dialogue platform and has facilitated and promoted a solution-oriented dialogue between divergent interests in climate protection in the most populous and most polluting state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The Climate Discourse.NRW was initiated among others by NGOs auch as the BUND NRW, the LAG 21 NRW, the NABU NRW, the Institute for Church and Society of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia as well as the the consumer represenation (Verbraucherzentrale) NRW and has been funded since 2012 by the Mercator Foundation and the Environment and Development Foundation NRW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arepo evaluated the activities of the association and made recommendations for further work. The evaluation assessed
\u2022 which effects (impact) the association could achieve in the second funding phase;
\u2022 whether and to what extent the association was and is in the position to set constructive impulses for climate protection in North Rhine-Westphalia against the background of the changed political framework conditions and changing debates in NRW (establishment as change agent);
\u2022 to what extent there is a need for the work of the platform beyond the second funding phase;
