IPEEC, the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation, was an autonomous partnership of nations that promotes collaboration on energy efficiency. Founded in 2009 by the Group of Eight (G8) membership expanded and at the time of the evaluation included 17 of the Group of Twenty (G20) economies. IPEEC had 9 Task Groups and another group (CDA\/NDTG) in the process of considering if and how to formalize its engagement, which typically worked on relatively specific issues, like energy efficiency finance or energy management systems, providing a platform for technical exchange and analysis of best practices. Most of the Task Groups received input and supported of international organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and private sector partners<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Arepo undertook a review of the IPPEC Task Groups to assess the overall effectiveness and impact of IPEEC’s activities since its foundation in 2009; to highlight areas for improvement and under-performance; to identify in what ways each Task Group could be continued, closed or improved; and to identify potential support that could be provided by the IPEEC Secretariat to enhance the quality and results of Task Groups’ efforts. Based on the foregoing CEM Initiative review and the IPEEI review, a questionnaire was developed to be filled in by one of the leads of each Task Group.
