UNIDO\u2019s Industrial Energy Efficiency-Related Programmes (Thailand, Iran, Indonesia, Egypt)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The impact evaluation of UNIDO\u2019s Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE) related programmes for the Independent Evaluation Division will serve as a basis to improve and expand the impact evaluation methodologies and culture in UNIDO for the coming years. The purpose of the evaluation was to independently assess the extent to which impacts or progress toward impacts of UNIDO interventions (programmes\/ projects) are geared towards improving energy efficiency. The assessment concentrated on achieved and measurable results and long-term and sustained impacts from completed or recently completed projects from (GEF\/ non-GEF funded) projects in the areas of industrial energy efficiency, resource efficiency and cleaner production, as well as the Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS)\/ Montreal Protocol projects on refrigeration and cooling.<br> The two main objectives of the impact evaluation were to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>assess the extent to which the impact of UNIDO\u2019s IEE related  programmes and projects can actually be measured, and, to the extent possible, evaluate the long-term impacts;<\/li><li>draw out lessons that may be applied in the development of future  projects in energy and environment as well as future impact evaluations. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Type and scope of services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Arepo led the overall evaluation and evaluated the programmes in Thailand and Iran covering the steel and cement sectors.
