Following the adoption of the Paris Agreement, the IKI focuses largely on assisting partner countries in the implementation of their nationally determined contributions (NDCs). These are primarily projects for the development of long-term strategies for the achievement of a low-carbon and climate-resilient development. The allocation of IKI funds takes place via various pillars. The selection process for country-specific programs aims to fully support partner countries in implementing the NDCs and the Strategic Plan 2011-2020 of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).<br>The selection process, supported by Arepo, included country-specific draft programs for Colombia, Mexico and the Philippines. The call for funding focused on integrated bilateral programs to be implemented in a consortium of more than two consortium partners with strong participation from national actors.
